Save web pages as offline snapshots
A bookmark points to a page. A snapshot keeps a captured copy of the page you were viewing.
Capture the page in Chrome
With the SaveContent extension installed, open the page you want to keep, open the extension and choose Save page. The extension captures page HTML and available embedded resources, together with the source URL, title and metadata. Capture happens when you press the button.
- Open the article, reference or design page you need. Let the useful content load before saving.
- Choose Save page in the extension. Open its Uploads screen to inspect your local copy and upload status.
- Sign in to sync the snapshot to your private SaveContent collection. If you are offline, the pending local copy stays available for retry.
- Open the saved reference to preview it or export its page archive. Keep the original source URL for attribution and context.
What the snapshot preserves
The archive includes saved HTML and metadata, plus a favicon and preview when available. It is a frozen reference, rather than a live mirror. You can search saved titles and other indexed reference text; SaveContent does not promise full-text search across every word in a captured page.
Where a snapshot has limits
Page scripts, forms, video playback and embedded frames are disabled in saved previews. Dynamic content, resources blocked by a website, or content that never loaded may be missing. Check the preview and capture warnings. A saved page cannot bypass access restrictions or a paywall.
The extension’s local page library has a 250 MiB limit. Older synced local copies may be removed to make room; unsynced copies remain until you delete them or uninstall the extension. Cloud references have no automatic expiry. Keep exports of important work independently.
Keep research and visual inspiration together
Use website snapshots for articles, landing page references and research you want to revisit. Keep them alongside Instagram references, and use authenticated MCP search with a compatible AI client to retrieve matching saved references.
